Go Metro to Hollywood Christmas Parade this Sunday, Nov. 28

The Hollywood Christmas Parade returns for its 89th edition on Sunday at 6 p.m. after missing 2020 due to the pandemic. Sheryl Underwood from The Talk is this year’s Grand Marshall. The parade this year benefits the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

With gas prices hovering around $5 a gallon and parking a pain, you can Go Metro to the parade by taking the B Line (Red) to either the Hollywood/Highland or Hollywood/Vine stations  — both are along the parade route. See the parade map at right.

The B Line runs between North Hollywood and Union Station with connections to many Metro bus lines as well as the D Line (Purple), L Line (Gold) and Metrolink at Union Station.  Plan your trip using the Transit app; download the app for iPhones from the Apple App Store or for Android phones at the Google Play store. B Line trains will be running every 12 minutes prior to the parade and every 20 minutes after 8 p.m.

Regular Metro fares are $1.75 for a single trip and the fare includes two hours of free transfers to/from Metro buses and trains. Fare cards — called TAP cards — can be purchased at all Metro Rail stations. Or use your smartphone as a TAP card! Instructions are here.

There is parking for $3 at the B Line’s North Hollywood and Universal/Studio City stations. Pay for parking at the on-site kiosks, with the Metro Parking mobile app (available through Google Play and the App Store ) or online at ParkAtMetro.net . There is also parking for $8 at Union Station.

    Thanks, Very good information

  2. Will there be additional bus service after the parade as there used to be in the past?

    • Hi Mike;

      No extra bus service but the B Line (Red) is a very good way to get to and from the event.
