A series of pop-up events will be held over the next several weeks to help Metro customers apply for our steeply discounted Low-Income Fare Is Easy (LIFE) fares. Community organizations will also be available on certain days to help customers complete their LIFE applications.

With fare collection restarting on Metro buses on January 10, we are slashing the price of our LIFE fares to help eligible riders save money and get where they need to go. Beginning Jan. 10 through late July, the cost to a LIFE rider for Metro passes will be: 

•$26 for a 30-day pass (a savings of $50). 

•$6.50 for a 7-day pass (a savings of $13). That’s less than a dollar a day for unlimited rides. 

•Riders who successfully apply to LIFE will get 90 days of free rides on Metro and participating transit systems starting January 10.

•Until Jan. 10, LIFE riders can still take advantage of LIFE’s discounts on Metro and 12 other participating bus agencies in Los Angeles County. 

We want all our customers to know that we’ve made LIFE applications much easier to fill out.

You can fill an application out online — in English or Spanish.

We are also holding pop-up events where staff will be on hand to help with applications and answer any questions you may have. Metro community partners will also be holding office hours where customers can get applications along with help filling them out.
