Service Advisory: buses replace C Line (Green) service between Hawthorne/Lennox and Redondo Beach

This Friday, October 15 from 9 p.m. to close of service Saturday, October 16,  C Line (Green) service will be suspended between Hawthorne/Lennox and Redondo Beach as crews continue to tie-in tracks to the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

This means the following stations will be closed: Aviation/LAX, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach

Buses will replace trains between Hawthorne/Lennox and Redondo Beach while the work is in effect. Service between Hawthorne/Lennox and Norwalk will run as normal with trains running every 15 minutes throughout the day and every 20 minutes after 9 p.m.

Buses will match the train schedule as best as possible. Please allow extra travel time to your commute. Regular weekend service to all stations will resume Sunday, Oct. 17.

As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your ride. For the latest service updates, please follow us on Twitter @MetroLAalerts.

  1. A “Turn Out” was already built during the original construction of the “Green Line”. Is that not being used ? If not , week after week of attempting to construct a new one is ridiculous. It was accomplished in less than one day by the P.E. and L.A. Railway many times using their primitive methods during the last century.

This never ending project explains why the MTA has never attempted to inter-connect any of its light rail lines before, they don’t know how to do it. One must wonder if the MTA is using the same consultants that have been used in the over budget, long over due completion, mismanaged Honolulu Light Rail Project.
