An Ode to the Essential tribute posters now available

UPDATE 9/14: Posters are now available upon request at all Metro Customer Center locations.

Earlier in 2021, Metro produced a poetry and art tribute entitled An Ode to the Essential, dedicated to our essential workers and to those we have lost to COVID-19. The tribute features an original poem by Joseph Rios and a delicate line drawing of a distinctly Los Angeles cityscape by artist Manuel López.

Limited quantities of An Ode to the Essential posters are now available to all riders. You can pick one up, free of charge, in person at the Gateway Transit Customer Center in Union Station’s East Portal as well as at neighborhood Metro Customer Centers. These include Wilshire/Vermont, East Los Angeles, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw and Rosa Parks Customer Center.

Check the link for open days and addresses – including Saturday hours at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw and East Los Angeles Customer Centers! Please note, Customer Centers are currently operating on a 10am-2pm limited schedule until further notice.

The tribute remains viewable on Metro in print and digital formats.

Learn more about the tribute here and on the Metro Art website.
