Metro is studying the areas around Purple (D Line) Extension’s Section 1 for opportunities to improve walking and biking connections to the three new rail stations:
- Wilshire/La Brea
- Wilshire/Fairfax
- Wilshire/La Cienega
Recommended improvements include adding crosswalks, lighting and bike lanes. We’ve put together a draft plan informed by technical assessments, community engagement and city coordination. The draft plan will be presented to the Metro Board of Directors in September 2021, and you can learn more about it in advance at one of the public meetings that will be held in August.
The same presentation will be offered on the following date/times using Zoom:
- Thursday, Aug. 12, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
RSVP to receive meeting updates and the Zoom link.
If you need language translation services or other assistance, please email hor@metro.net no later than 72 hours before the scheduled presentation times.

I currently take Metro buses down Wilshire Boulevard. I have found cross street bus schedules to be inadequate at all 3 subway station sites. Metro needs to improve bus traffic on La Cienega, on Fairfax, and on la Brea.
