Service Advisory: buses replace A Line (Blue) service between Del Amo and Downtown Long Beach this weekend

The A Line (Blue) will be closed south of Del Amo Station this Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7 from open to close service. During this time, Metro will perform routine system maintenance along with other utility projects from Southern California Edison and the City of Long Beach.

Metro bus shuttles will replace rail service between Del Amo and Downtown Long Beach Station throughout the closure. A Line trains are slated to run approximately every 12 minutes while the work is in effect.

If you plan on using the A Line to get to Long Beach this weekend, please allow extra travel time for your transfer between the train and bus shuttles. Metro personnel will be on scene throughout the day to lend assistance

Regular train service is scheduled to resume Monday, March 8.

As always, we encourage all Metro riders to follow us on Twitter @metroLAalerts for transportation news and service updates.

  1. Will this be an ongoing feature of weekend service on the Blue, Gold, and Expo lines? It doesn’t seem related to New Blue.
