Metro Bike Share is available in Downtown LA, Central LA, North Hollywood, and on the Westside. Metro Bike Share in North Hollywood features Smart Metro Bike technology, which gives riders the ability to lock Metro Bikes at their nearest station or, for a convenience fee, to any municipal bike rack in the North Hollywood service area. In Downtown and Central LA, Metro Bike Share has put more Metro Bikes in more places, with new stations in Hollywood, Echo Park, Silver Lake, and Rampart Village. To support riders during the 22-month L Line Closure, Metro Bike Share also recently expanded the station at 1st & Central and installed a station at 1st & Utah.
New passholders can once again ride down some of LA’s most beautiful beachside bike paths and explore the Westside, where Metro Bike Share is available in Santa Monica, Venice, Palms, Mar Vista, Del Rey, Playa del Rey & Playa Vista. In October, Metro Bike Share began a regional improvement project on the Westside to improve the rider experience at stations and to bring the popular Electric Metro Bike to the Westside. Following a brief interruption of service in late September, Metro Bike Share has returned to operations and installed 25 upgraded stations on the Westside, including stations at Venice Beach, Dockweiler and Toes Beach, and near the Metro E Line (Expo) in Downtown Santa Monica and Santa Monica City College. More stations will continue to be installed throughout December and the project is expected to be completed early 2021.
New riders can discover routes and find places to explore with Metro Bike Share’s Ride Guides, which are now available on the Metro Bike Share website. Don’t miss the latest ride guide, which features Venice Beach’s bike path.
