Friendly reminder: Metro’s draft version of Goods Movement Strategic Plan is still available for public comment!
Metro is pleased to have developed the draft plan along with a very wide spectrum of goods movement stakeholders. We’re looking for ways to improve the economy-sustaining movement of goods while minimizing impacts of freight movement on local communities.
With the values of equity and sustainability at its center, the Plan seeks to develop priorities, strategies and early action initiatives for Metro to lead on or support.

The Plan sticks to Metro’s core values — equity and sustainability. But the plan also looks to enhance the many things that are needed to move goods, among them a safe and efficient multimodal system (trucks, trains, ships and planes), a culture of investment and innovation, strong markets and reliable supply chains and a strong labor force. All these will help improve the region’s economic competitiveness and quality-of-life. These are goals we believe everyone supports.
