Tune in to August Service Council meetings and NextGen Bus Plan public hearings

To comply with local and state directives limiting the number of people that can gather, the August Service Councils and NextGen Bus Plan public hearings will meet virtually. For August meetings, all Councils will receive a regional performance report; the Councils will also each convene a public hearing to hear from the public regarding the NextGen Bus Plan, some right after their regular meeting, and others on different days.

Agendas will be posted here at least 3 days before the meeting if not sooner, along with links where people can submit comments to be read during the meeting.

· San Fernando Valley: Wednesday, Aug. 19
Meeting will begin at 6 p.m., public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m.

· Westside Central: Wednesday, Aug. 26
Meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., public hearing will begin at 6 p.m.

· Gateway Cities: Thursday, Aug. 27
Meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., public hearing will begin at 6 p.m.

· South Bay Cities: Friday, Aug. 14 & Thursday, Aug. 20
Aug. 14 meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 20 hearing will begin at 6 p.m.

South Bay Cities Service Council will also receive an update on the Inglewood Transit Connector Overview.

· San Gabriel Valley: Monday, Aug. 10 and Monday, Aug. 24
Aug. 10 meeting will begin at 5 p.m., Aug. 24 public hearing will begin at 6 p.m.

San Gabriel Valley Service Council will also receive an update on the Foothill Gold Line Extension Phase 2B.

· An additional all regions public hearing will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22

To submit public comments to the Service Councils, you can:

· Submit an online comment before or during the meeting through the links on the agendas posted here. Click on “comment” for the item you’d like to submit remarks for. This feature will remain active throughout the meeting.

· Send an email to servicecouncils@metro.net. Please include which Service Council and agenda item number your comments are for.

· Mail your comments, noting the Service Council and agenda item number to:

Your email and mail comments must be received by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting to be read into the public record during the meeting.

Heads up for those looking ahead! The September Service Council meetings, where the Councils will vote on the NextGen Bus Plan proposals, will not be held on their regular dates. Their revised dates are:

San Fernando Valley: Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

South Bay Cities: Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m.

San Gabriel Valley: Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.

Westside Central: Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

Gateway Cities: Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.

    The brand-new Line 153 will become the Burbank Blvd route

    Line 154 needs to add a weekend service

    ine 155 will extend from Burbank Metrolink Station to Sherman Oaks Galleria

    Line 155 will become the Magnolia Blvd route

    Renumbered Line 217 as Line 180 and extend Line 180 from Pasadena to La Cienega/Jefferson Expo Line Station.

    Line 180 needs to add more frequency service

    Extend Line 211 from South Bay Galleria to Downtown Inglewood Station.

    Extend Line 212 from Hollywood/Highland Red Line Station to South Bay Galleria.

    Line 212 needs to add more frequency service

    Line 215 from South Bay Galleria to Future Wilshire/La Cienega Purple Line Station

    Line 215 will serve Culver City Howard Hughes Center and Westfield Culver City Mall it will also serve La Cienega Blvd south of La Cienega/Jefferson Expo Line Station to replace Line 217

    Renumbered Line 685 as Line 251 and extend Line 251 from Lynwood Long Beach Green Line Station to Glendale

    The brand-new Line 251 weekday route service will end at Glendale Community College and the brand-new Line 251 weekend service will end at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale

    Line 258 needs to add a weekend service due to a passenger demand

    Renumbered Line 534 as Line 134
