The Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna event begins at 10 a.m. Monday at Staples Center with doors opening at 8 a.m. Officials are recommending those with tickets arrive early and plan ahead to avoid downtown L.A. traffic.
Metro’s A Line (Blue) and E Line (Expo) both stop at Pico Station, which is a five-minute walk to Staples Center. Those taking the B Line (Red) or D Line (Purple) subway should transfer to the A and E Lines at 7th/Metro Station and exit at Pico Station. Many Metro Bus Lines also stop near Staples Center. See the map below; all bus line maps and timetables are here.
To ride Metro buses and trains, please load your fare on reloadable TAP cards, which are available at all Metro Rail, G Line (Orange) and J Line (Silver) stations.
The regular Metro fare is $1.75 each way with two hours of transfers are included. We recommend loading $3.50 in stored value when purchasing a card — $3.50 is enough for a round-trip ride. More info about Metro fares is here.
All regularly-scheduled Metrolink commuter rail lines will operate Monday, with connections from Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange counties. Trains to Union Station arrive every 20 to 30 minutes between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Metrolink riders can transfer for free at Union Station to Metro B Line or D Line (Purple). After reaching the 7th St/Metro Center Station, take the E (Expo) or A (Blue) lines to the Pico Station, or walk southwest on South Figueroa Street five blocks to STAPLES Center.

if I am coming from the norh hollywood station . what lines do I take and do I have to transfer
Hi Minerva,
If this is not too late, take the B Line (Red) to 7th/Metro and transfer there to the A Line (Blue) or E Line (Expo) and go one stop to Pico Station.

Will there be any road/street closures on the day of the event, or any bus routes be affected, specifically Bus Line 460?
Hi Lilian;
The street closures are Chick Hearn Court from LA LIVE Way to Figueroa Street; Georgia Street from Olympic Boulevard to Chick Hearn Court. That should not impact the 460 although the usual event and rush hour traffic in the area around Staples is to be expected.
