Happy New Year! Resolve to be more involved in your community by attending a Service Council meeting

This month, all the Councils will meet except the San Fernando Valley, which will return to their regular meeting date in February.

At each of this month’s Council meetings, we’ll receive an update from the Station Evaluation team. The report will recap all the new scores of each inspected station for the second quarter of the fiscal year.

We’ll also receive the monthly report telling us how Metro service is performing and hear regional announcements and news that make up the Service Performance Report’s “Items of Note” section.

Also this month, outgoing Service Council Member Perri Sloane Goodman will be recognized at the Westside Central meeting, and incoming San Gabriel Valley Service Council Member and La Cañada Flintridge Mayor Leonard Pieroni will be sworn in.

Last but not least, a couple of the Councils will consider submitting support letters for Metro applications to the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) for projects in their regions.

As a reminder, the South Bay Cities Service Council has changed their meeting time and location. Their first meeting at Lennox Library will begin at 10:30 a.m. The change in location and time is permanent until further notice.

For more information about each Service Council, take a look at their web pages by clicking on the name below. The agenda items for each Council are listed below; agendas are posted monthly with links to the presentation materials here, at least three days in advance of each meeting date, though usually a little earlier.
