In December, only the San Fernando Valley will meet; the other Service Councils will go dark until January. The San Fernando Valley will receive a North Hollywood Joint Development Project update to learn more about the redevelopment plans for the 15-acre area surrounding the North Hollywood Red and Orange Line Stations.
They also will receive their June Shakeup review and December preview presentation. All the other Service Councils received their Shakeup presentations in November. Last but not least, the Council will consider submitting a support letter for Metro’s Grant Application to support Metrolink Antelope Valley Line Capital and Service Improvements and Zero Emission Buses and Infrastructure Projects.
As a heads up for the January round of meetings, the South Bay Service Council is moving their meetings to Lennox. In October, they voted to change their meeting location to Carson; then in November, they revisited that decision and opted to move to the Lennox Library instead. The change will begin with their January 10, 2020 meeting; the meeting start time will also change to 10:30 a.m. from 9:30 a.m. to better align with the Library’s hours. The Council hopes that the new location is easier to reach for South Bay patrons who’d like to attend and share their comments. Lennox Library is served by Lines 40 and 212 North. It is also a 0.3 mile walk from the Green Line’s Hawthorne/Lennox Station.
