Public meetings aren’t spooky! Attend a Service Council meeting and see for yourself

Happy October! Don’t be afraid to drop by a Service Council meeting! The Councils are like neighborhood councils, but for all things Metro. Community members can provide feedback on bus service issues in their neighborhoods and hear about projects and programs in their regions.

This month, all the Councils will meet and receive the first station evaluation report of the new fiscal year. With the expansion of the Station Evaluation Program and team, new stations have been added for each Council region. Each Council also sent a representative councilmember to Mobility 21, an annual conference to discuss transportation challenges and developments.

This month, they’ll provide an overview of the event at their meetings. San Fernando and Gateway Cities will hear from Transit Security, and Vermont Transit Corridor Updates are coming to Westside and South Bay. Please note that this month, the Westside Service Council will meet on October 16 to avoid conflicting with the Yom Kippur holiday.

If you’ve ever wanted to go to a South Bay Service Council meeting but the location was inconvenient, now’s your chance to speak up. The Council will vote on a new meeting location at their October 11 meeting.

For more information about each Service Council, take a look at their web pages by clicking on the name below. The agenda items for each Council are listed below; the agendas are posted monthly with links to the presentation materials here.
