TAP now has more options that enable you to customize your TAP account to fit your unique style. TAP is celebrating these new features with two commemorative TAP cards, available at select TAP vending machines at various Metro stations and Metro Customer Care Centers.
Pay for additional transit programs, like Metro Bike Share, using funds stored in your TAP Wallet. The TAP Wallet holds flexible payment options for transit and other programs. In addition to storing credit/debit cards, you can now add cash funds with PayNearMe, or use PayPal at checkout. To get started, create a TAP account on taptogo.net.
Be sure to check the sticker above the TVM screens to see which cards are in stock. TAP cards cost $2 and are reusable.

Sad to say that the tap card can’t be loaded online. When I tried to load, on two separate occasions, it wouldn’t work. When I called the second time they said they couldn’t guarantee it would work when I got to the station. Seems like the TAP program isn’t as efficient as it should be.
