Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Pilot Business Solution Center (BSC) continues to provide hands-on business support services and referrals to small businesses along the Crenshaw/LAX Line corridor. In honor of National Bike Month, we’re spotlighting BSC client Ride On! Bike Shop/Co-Op.

Ride On! Bike Shop/Co-Op (Ride On!) is a full-service bicycle shop, offering repairs, sales and rentals. The Co-Op is a member-run bicycle collective that provides tools, space and a community environment (by appointment) to facilitate bike repair education. Ride On! also hosts workshops on bike safety and skills training and partners with Metro’s Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program.

Owned and operated by Adé E. Neff, the shop is located in Leimert Park and aims to provide a space where community members can gather, receive bike services, learn basic bike repair knowledge and more easily connect with the cycling community in a fun and safe environment.

Since 2017, owner/founder Adé E. Neff has received on-going support from Metro’s BSC. The BSC developed a first-ever business website including assisting with mobile and search engine optimization. Additionally, Mr. Neff has received small business support services such as expert photography of merchandise and the store’s interior, guided business accounts management support and more. The BSC’s ongoing support helps sustain the business within the Crenshaw and Inglewood communities.

Since launching in 2014, the BSC has provided support to more than 300 businesses along the Crenshaw/LAX corridor, providing them with expert advice on how to maintain and grow their businesses as construction of the new rail line continues.

Ongoing areas of focus also include website design and development, social media training as well as information technology systems assessments and commercial real estate assistance. As a compliment to direct, hands-on services the BSC has provided over 1,000 individual referrals to small business clients for technical assistance in areas such as commercial leasing assessments, accounting management, branding and more.
