Go Metro to the L.A. Times Festival of Books and save 10% on festival merchandise

The L.A. Times Festival of Books returns to the USC campus April 13 – 14. Browse through hundreds of booksellers and enjoy the kids’ area, live music, virtual reality, cultural entertainment and more! The event is free and open to the public.

Go Metro and save 10% on your total purchase on official 2019 Festival of Books merchandise, including mugs, T-shirts, and more! To receive the discount, show your valid TAP card upon checkout wherever official merchandise is sold.

To get to the Festival of Books, take the Metro Expo Line to Expo Park/USC Station or the Metro Silver Line to 37th Street/USC. The DASH F bus is another good option and it’s only $.35 to ride if you use Stored Value on TAP.

Note: the Festival shuttle bus from Union Station is no longer provided. If you’re coming from Union Station, take the Red or Purple Line to 7th/Metro Center, then head upstairs to transfer to the Expo Line.

A one-way trip on Metro Rail is $1.75 and gives you two hours of free transfers. To save time on your return trip, load $3.50 in Stored Value for a round-trip ride before you head out. One-way fare on the Silver Line is $2.50.

The Festival of Books will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

  1. When it eventually opens, the Regional Connector will get people directly from Union Station to the Festival. But until then, transfers are required.
