Go Metro and save on holiday activities

If you are anything like me, you are missing the summer season and all the activities that come with it. Luckily, despite the colder weather, this holiday season brings a snowfall of activities for you and your loved ones to enjoy.

From ice skating rinks to pop-up museums, there’s something for everyone. So, pull out your coziest coats and put on your merriest attitudes because there is no reason to be glum this season with Metro offering exclusive discounts for the following activities:

Santa Anita Winterfest: a winter wonderland takes over the race track with horse-drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, gingerbread making and more. Admission is $5 and comes with a free cookie and hot chocolate! For $15 you can get unlimited ice skating all day. Save $1 on Winterfest entry AND $1 on ice skating admission by showing your TAP card. To get there, take the Gold Line to Arcadia Station and transfer onto the Arcadia Transit Green Line shuttle directly to Santa Anita Park.

Holiday Ice Rink in Pershing Squarelocated in Pershing Square in DTLA, it’s the largest outdoor ice skating rink in Los Angeles! Admission is $9 for a 60-minute skating session. Save $1 on admission by showing your TAP card. To get there, take the Red or Purple Line to Pershing Square Station. There are also multiple DTLA bus lines that serve the area.

Fa La Land: the interactive pop-up museum will leave your Instagram feed holiday ready. Select your preferred date and enter code ‘metrodiscountfalaland’ to save 10% on tickets. Fa La Land is located at ROW DTLA, take the Metro Rapid 760 or Metro Bus 60 or 62 to 7th/Central.

Yuletide Cinemaland: fill up on food, hot chocolate and the sound of Christmas carols along with your favorite holiday movies. General admission begins at $25. Check movie showing dates here and save $5 on tickets by showing your TAP card. To get there, take Gold Line to Heritage Square Station and walk for ten minutes to Heritage Square Museum.

A 1940s Christmas at Club Sweet Lorraine’s: enjoy Sharon L. Gaine’s musical on Sunday, Dec. 9. The 1940s after-hours nightclub is located at the intimate City Garage Theatre. Show your TAP card at the box office or reserve online here and enter the promo code “GoMetro” to save 25% on your tickets. Take the Expo Line to 26th Street/Bergamot Station. The theatre is located directly across the street.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play: an all-time classic Christmas story comes to life onstage in a 1940s-style radio broadcast. Tickets start at $25 but use code ‘METRO’ online and save 20% at checkout. To get to the Pasadena Playhouse, take the Gold Line to Memorial Park Station followed by a 10-minute walk east.
