Metro’s Community Education Team leads hands-on Rail Safety Orientation Tours offered to schools within a half-mile radius of the Blue, Expo, and Gold lines.
Interested groups must first schedule a Rail Safety Presentation prior to going on any trip. Once the presentation has taken place, the teacher will complete an online presentation survey and then proceed to fill out the RSOT request form. All requests must be submitted three weeks prior to the desired date of the safety tour. Please allow up to three business days for a MCE representative to confirm trip.
Tours are conducted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The group will receive a Day Pass to explore the Metro system. Tours are not provided to children under age five. No strollers are allowed on trips. Schools must provide a minimum of one teacher/chaperone per ten students.

What a great idea! In addition to teaching use and safety, this program also cultivates and encourages future use of the transit system. Bravo, Metro!
