From a tour exploring historic Union Station art and architecture to a documentary film screening highlighting the thriving alternative hip-hop movement of the 1990s as it evolved in Los Angeles, here’s your guide to all the Metro Art events happening in December. Did we mention they’re all free and open to the public?
- Friday, Dec. 1: Metro Art Presents This is the Life (2008, 97 min, Dir. Ava DuVernay) as the final installment of our documentary series about Los Angeles. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. in Union Station’s Historic Ticketing Hall; screening runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 2: Art Tour of Rail Stations in Hollywood from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the street level entrance to the Hollywood/Highland Station.
- Sunday, Dec. 3: Art Tour of Rail Stations in downtown Los Angeles from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Union Station information kiosk near the Alameda Street entrance.
- Sunday, Dec. 10: Art & Architecture Tour of Union Station from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meet at the Union Station information kiosk near the Alameda Street entrance.
Union Station is accessible via Metro Rail, Metro Bus and several municipal bus lines. Use the Trip Planner for routes and connections. Car and bicycle parking are also available on site. Enter from Vignes or Cesar Chavez.
