Union Station will be hosting events all month long to bring a little holiday cheer to your winter travels.
First up is the annual tree lighting ceremony taking place this Thursday, Nov. 30. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. on the south patio and will feature performances by the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra and the All-American Boys Chorus. There will also be a free hot chocolate from the cocoa bar, a holiday craft zone, a photo booth, and of course a chance for you to take a photo with the big red guy himself! The tree lighting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
The tree lighting kicks off the free Cocoa Concerts series that will take place at Union Station throughout December. The concert dates are Friday, Dec. 8, Friday, Dec. 15 and Friday, Dec. 22. For more details, check Union Station’s website.
Besides the concerts, don’t miss the Union Station Holiday Festival & Market, a pop-up artisan market that will be located on the south patio on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Shop for jewelry, organic body products, apparel and more. The day-long festival will also feature live music and craft making.
The Holiday TrainFest and Toy Drive will be happening at Union Station on Saturday, Dec. 16. The free, family-friendly event will take place 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Track 14. The event features holiday refreshments, a visit from Santa Claus, vintage rail cars and more.
