A signature closure for various maintenance projects along the Blue Line will impact service this weekend.
Starting Friday, Oct. 20, after 9 p.m. through the end of service on Sunday, Oct. 22, the Blue Line Florence, Firestone and 103rd Street/Watts Towers stations will be closed. Bus shuttles will replace train service between Slauson and Willowbrook/Rosa Parks stations.
This means all northbound trains headed to downtown L.A. will turn back to Long Beach at Willowbrook Station and all southbound trains traveling toward Long Beach will turn back to downtown L.A. at Slauson Station.
Bus shuttles will match the Blue Line train schedule as best as possible. Customers may want to consider a combination of the Green Line and Silver Line as an alternate route for travel between south L.A. and downtown L.A.
While the closure is in effect, trains will operate as follows:
- Before 9 p.m. Friday: The last complete northbound trips to downtown L.A. depart Long Beach at approximately: 7:16, 7:28, 7:42, 8:02 and 8:22 p.m. The last complete southbound trips to Long Beach depart 7th/Metro at approximately: 7:22, 7:34, 7:46, 7:58 and 8:10 p.m.
- After 9 p.m. Friday: trains arrive every 20 minutes throughout the night
- Saturday and Sunday: trains run regular 12 minute midday service and every 20 minutes after 9 p.m.
Metro personnel will be on hand to lend assistance at all Blue Line stations where work and bus shuttles are in effect. Normal Blue Line service will resume with the start of service on Monday morning.

Thank you to all customers for their patience and understanding as we work to provide a better Blue Line.
