Thanks to everyone for coming out yesterday for CicLAvia: Heart of LA. There’s one more CicLAvia this year — Dec. 10 from DTLA to Koreatown on Wilshire Boulevard.
Metro Bike Share had a good day with tons of our bikes being used on Sunday. As per usual for the DTLA events, the crowd seemed pretty large.
CicLAvia is funded through the Metro Open Streets Grant Program, which provides funding to events that temporarily close city streets to cars and open them to people walking, biking and rolling. The goal of the program is to offer people opportunities to walk and bike on local streets, try transit (maybe for the first time) and foster civic engagement that supports active transportation projects and programs.
Here are a few pics we snapped (and here’s an entire Flickr album) along with some others from social media:

Turn your sound on!!! #ciclavia is the best time, a whole day of car-free streets right in the middle of DTLA. Especially with @cletus_kuhn and @preacherlord who are always down to session a palm tree. 🎶: "What a Nice Municipal Park" by #coleporter #losangeles #california #rollerskate
