Go Metro to the opera and save on select performances. LA Opera opens their 2017-2018 season with Carmen on Sept. 9 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which is located just a block away from the Red/Purple Line Civic Center/Grand Park Station. Show your TAP card at the box office and receive a 20% discount on tickets to Carmen or any of the other upcoming shows from Monday through Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or until 7 p.m. on performance days.

If you’d like to catch a free preview of Carmen, swing by Union Station on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. There will be flamenco dancers, a Spanish guitarist and breathtaking arias from the production showcased in the Historic Ticketing Hall.
You can also watch Carmen for free via live simulcast on Saturday, Sept. 23. The performance will be shown at Expo Park and the Santa Monica Pier — both locations accessible via the Expo Line. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m.
