Avoid the blistering heat by joining us at this month’s Service Council meetings, all held in air-conditioned facilities!

All Service Councils will hold the regular monthly meetings; however this month four of the Councils will also convene public hearings. The public is always welcome to attend and share input at Service Council meetings and public hearings; see below for more information on this month’s public hearings on proposed service changes. Select Service Councils will welcome new Council Members to their Councils, and all will adopt their FY18 Work Plans and receive the regular Regional Service Performance Report. Remember to stay hydrated and cool during the coming weeks!

REMINDER: There will be a Regional Public Hearing on Saturday, July 8, 2017, located in the Metro Boardroom (1 Gateway Plaza, 3rd Floor, Los Angeles, CA  90012) at 10am.

San Fernando Valley (*6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5) – Swear in Robert Gonzales as Councilmember, Adopt FY18 Work Plan, and Regional Service Performance Report.

*REMINDER: The San Fernando Valley Service Council Meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. to be followed by a Public Hearing at 6:30 p.m. at the regular meeting location in Van Nuys. 

San Gabriel Valley (5:00 p.m., Monday July 10) – Adopt FY18 Work Plan, Foothill Gold Line Extension Phase II Update, Consider Going Dark for August 14, 2017 Regular Meeting, and Regional Service Performance Report.

Westside Central (5:00 p.m., Wednesday July 12) – Swear in Malcolm Harris as Councilmember, Adopt FY18 Work Plan, and Regional Service Performance Report.

REMINDER: The regular Westside Central Service Council Meeting will be followed by a Public Hearing at 6:00pm

Gateway Cities (*5:00 p.m., Thursday July 13 – Adopt FY18 Work Plan, 710-S Corridor Project Update, Council Member Line Ride Report, and Regional Service Performance Report. 

*REMINDER: The Gateway Cities Service Council Meeting will be held at Douglas F. Dollarhide Community Center (301 N Tamarind Ave, Compton, CA 90220) at 5:00pm followed by a joint Public Hearing with South Bay Service Council at 6:00pm.

South Bay * (9:30 a.m., Friday, July 14) – Swear in Luis Duran, Meighan Langelois, and Dan Medina as Council Members, Communication Metro Service Disruptions Presentation, Adopt FY18 Work Plan, Elect Chair and Vice Chair, and Regional Performance Report. 

REMINDER: The South Bay Service Council will participate in a joint public hearing with Gateway Service Council on Thursday, July 13 at Douglas F. Dollarhide Community Center at 6:00pm. The Council will hold their monthly meeting at the usual time and location on Friday, July 14, 2017.

The public is always encouraged to attend and share their comments or suggestions with the Service Councils on improving bus service throughout LA County. If you would like to provide input but cannot attend a meeting, you can also submit your comments in writing through the Service Council web page or send them to service councils@metro.net. If your comments are for a specific Council, please make sure to indicate which one you are addressing in your e-mail.
