Saturday morning: Red Line trains SKIP Vermont/Sunset due to safety exercise

A heads up to those traveling through the Hollywood area on the morning of Saturday, May 20: Metro and the tri-hospitals – Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles – will be conducting a joint safety exercise between 7 and 10 a.m. to test the facilities’ emergency preparedness. Please keep in mind that this is only a drill.

During the exercise, Red Line trains will run regular Saturday service but will skip Vermont/Sunset Station. Free Metro bus shuttles will be available at Vermont/Santa Monica and Hollywood/Western Stations for your continued commute into Vermont/Sunset. Please allow extra travel time while transferring to bus shuttles.

Some customers may also want to consider Line 204 or Rapid 754 between Vermont/Santa Monica and Vermont/Sunset, and Line 180 or Rapid 780 between Vermont/Sunset and Hollywood/Western to avoid transferring to Red Line bus shuttles.

We realize the closure is an inconvenience for many and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Metro personnel will be on hand and happy to assist at all Red Line stations impacted by the exercise. Normal Red Line train service into Vermont/Sunset Station is slated to resume at 10 a.m. Saturday.
