Los Angeles Eye Care is located along the Little Tokyo area of the Regional Connector Transit Project. It is owned and operated by Dr. Gregory Kame who took over the business from his father in 2000. Dr. Kame is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry and a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Optometry. Los Angeles Eye Care has an extensive history and a well-known reputation in the Little Tokyo community, given that it was first established in 1921.
Los Angeles Eye Care generates revenues from the service of optometry, eye care, eye glasses and contact lenses. Visitors and patients are greeted by hundreds of eyeglass frames carefully displayed on every wall as they walk in for their appointments.
Dr. Kame is focused on the benefits that the Regional Connector project will bring to Little Tokyo. Although Los Angeles Eye Care has been impacted by construction, he is optimistic that his business will continue to succeed with Metro’s help. “The closures on 2nd Street were difficult for our office, but I am thankful for the BIF program that has allowed us to stay where we are,” said Dr. Kame.
