The 89th Annual Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood next Sunday evening and Metro buses are beginning detour schedules this weekend as preparations commence for the ceremony.
Metro Bus Lines 212, 217, 222 and 780 will begin detouring Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. along Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, or until barricades are removed by the city of Los Angeles.
The Metro Red Line will run regular Sunday schedule on Feb. 26; however, trains will bypass Hollywood/Highland Station the entire day. Red Line trains will resume stops to Hollywood/Highland Station at start of service Monday, Feb 27. There will also be no public access to the station. Customers are encouraged to use Hollywood/Vine Station as an alternate and transfer to bus or walk.
More buses are expected to detour leading up to Oscar Sunday, so please visit the Service Advisories page for specific route information. For real-time service alerts, follow us on Twitter @metrolaalerts or @metrolosangeles.

This is why there should be a second station entrance here. I’m guessing that will be addressed once the Crenshaw Line is extended to Hollywood/Highland since a second station box will be required anyway.
There is probably still a posted layover zone on Orange Dr. at Sunset Bl. adjacent to the In & Out driveway. I established it during the Hollywood and Highland station construction. Laying over there provides a possible restroom facility inside of In & Out.
