Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Metro: we’ve got music, art and dancing

The heart on Metro Headquarters on Valentine’s Day weekend 2015.

If you haven’t already deduced from the over-saturation of hearts, candy, and flowers in every store, here’s a friendly reminder that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!

Metro Art will be hosting two events to celebrate the special day of LURVE.

The first event will take place on Sunday, Feb. 12 — not Valentine’s Day, but that should not deter you. Attend a special free Valentine’s Day Art Tour on the Gold Line. Learn about station art and watch pop-up performances by the Independent Shakespeare Co. The tour will meet at the Gold Line Arcadia Station at 2 p.m. and end at Azusa Downtown Station at 4:30 p.m.

The second will take place on actual Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Enjoy an evening of tango in Union Station’s Historic Ticketing Hall. Take a free tango lesson, then dance to live orchestra Tangótico and watch dance performances by Carlos Barrionuevo and Mayte Valdes. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with dancing from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
