Eat Shop Play Local
As L.A. Metro builds $8 billion of new rail lines in Los Angeles County, we created Eat Shop Play as a unique program to lessen the impacts of construction for 250-plus small businesses near projects by providing much needed marketing support. The goal of the Eat Shop Play program is to increase exposure for these businesses and to help them survive and thrive during construction.
What’s Fortune Fridays?
Fortune Fridays is Eat Shop Play’s new social media contest to support businesses impacted by construction along the Crenshaw/LAX Line, the Purple Line Extension’s first phase and the Regional Connector. In addition to the program’s regularly scheduled promotional activities, Fortune Fridays is designed to increase customer loyalty by offering prizes to customers who support impacted businesses via social media.
How it works
Customers of businesses near Metro Rail construction can post fun and creative photos and supportive messages to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #EatShopPlay and the neighborhood hashtags: #Crenshaw, #DTLA, #Wilshire, #Inglewood and #LittleTokyo. Every Friday, one lucky customer from each project will win a limited edition 7-day Metro TAP card!
The new Eat Shop Play Local tap card is an exclusive Fortune Fridays prize and won’t be available anywhere else.
Follow these project pages on Facebook and Twitter to see new winners announced every Friday:
