Reminder: ride Metro for free on Christmas Eve from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Holiday travel stressing you out? Take a break from the stress and consider going Metro this Christmas weekend. After all, ‘tis the season to be jolly!

To help you celebrate the holidays safely, all Metro Bus and Rail lines will offer free rides the night of Christmas Eve from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. Christmas morning. All Metro Rail stations with latched gates will be unlatched during this time.

If you are in the downtown area on Christmas Eve, head to The Music Center for the 57th Annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration. Enjoy the musical festivities with more than 20 bands, choirs, and dance companies. The event takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. To get there, consider taking Metro Red or Purple Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station and be sure to show your TAP card for a special holiday souvenir.

Christmas Day riders can expect Metro Bus and Rail to run on Sunday/Holiday schedule. Enhanced game day service will be provided on certain lines for the Rams vs. 49ers game. Just a quick reminder for those attending the Clippers vs. Lakers game, you can avoid traffic and parking by riding Metro to the Blue/Expo Line Pico Station for the Staples Center.

Additionally, Metro Bus and Rail will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Christmas Day Observed, Dec. 26. This means bus lines that do not operate on Sundays will not run on Monday.

Merry Christmas to all, and safe travels this holiday weekend!
