The Breeders Cup is being held at historic Santa Anita Park in Arcadia on Friday and Saturday. With the Gold Line opening to Arcadia earlier this year, it’s pretty easy to reach the track via transit. The Gold Line runs every seven to 12 minutes on Friday and every 12 minutes on Saturday. It’s about a 33-minute ride from Union Station to Arcadia Station. Here’s the Gold Line map and timetable.

Santa Anita Park is about a one-mile walk (it’s flat) from the station — from the platform turn right onto Santa Clara Street and then turn right on Huntington Drive until you reach the track.

A free shuttle is offered by Santa Anita Park. From the track: “The Santa Anita Shuttle will operate with pickup and drop off service available every 20 minutes, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each racing day. Santa Anita Ambassadors will be available to assist fans who may have questions regarding their visit to Santa Anita.”

Another option: the Arcadia bus shuttle (the Green Line) runs between the Gold Line station and the track. The fare is 50 cents each way and rides are free for seniors 62 and up and kids four and under and those with disabilities. More info here.
