Metro Board Member Ara Najarian joined officials from the city of Santa Clarita to celebrate the opening of the Golden Valley Bridge Widening Project and naming of the bridge to honor Connie Worden-Roberts.
Metro contributed $4.3 million in Proposition C funds, which was half to total price tag. The project is designed to reduce congestion and enhance mobility by adding two lanes of traffic and dedicated bike and pedestrian access.
Najarian emphasized that Metro has committed to $200 million in interchange improvements along Highway 14 through Measure R. Also participating were Metro Chief Programs Officer Richard Clarke and Deborah Wong of Caltrans.
