The 1,500th U-Pass — Metro’s cheap-and-easy college transit pass solution — was recently purchased by a CSUN student. Here’s the news release.
The U-Pass is heavily subsidized by schools, meaning CSUN students can buy them for $95 for fall semester and then use their student ID cards to board Metro buses and trains (a sticker that turns the ID into a TAP card goes on your student ID). More here.
The Metro Local 167 (which runs between Chatsworth and Studio City) and the Metro Rapid 744 (which runs between Northridge, Encino, Studio City and Pacoima with transfers to the Orange Line) both serve CSUN, which is also served by Metrolink and AVTA Transit.

The 166 serves the campus as well, it’s very busy with students along the route.
This is amazing. I wish I had this during my Northridge days!
