As part of the Nov. 8 ballot, Los Angeles County voters will be considering Measure M, a half-cent sales tax increase and extension of the Measure R half-cent tax beyond 2039 to pay for transit, highway, walking, biking and other transportation projects. Both taxes would continue in perpetuity or until voters decide to end them.
Metro has produced fact sheets that show the projects and programs in Measure M’s spending plan for each of the nine subregions of the county. The Las Virgenes/Malibu subregion includes Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu, Westlake and unincorporated L.A. County. Measure M would provide more funds for highway efficiency and traffic relief projects and also provide the subregion with $180 million for local transportation-related projects over the next 40 years.
