Civic Center Studios is a studio and production company that was established in 2010 by entrepreneurs Pete Galindo and Luis Guizar. The studio is located at 207 S. Broadway, Suite One, Los Angeles, CA 90038, along the 2nd/Broadway segment of the Regional Connector Transit Project in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles.
The 5,000 square-foot studio offers access to technology, equipment, skilled trade, and space, including makeup/wardrobe rooms and on-site grip and electric support. The studio’s clientele includes NBC Universal, I Mean It Creative, and Prologue Films.
Galindo and Guizar are realizing the dream of owning their own business. “We’re working hard to keep our studio open. My father shined shoes along Broadway as a kid in the late 60’s and is now a retired Metro bus driver. I grew up around here and look forward to contributing to the reemergence of downtown by actively growing the creative industries,” Galindo stated.
Both Galindo and Guizar are looking forward to the day when the construction is completed and the area is restored to its former vibrancy. In the meantime, they are thankful for the assistance they have received from Metro’s Business Interruption Fund (BIF). “As a small business in Downtown LA, this program is helping us contend with the challenges inherent in a project of this scope and we hope Metro will continue to support us throughout construction,” Galindo said.
