A few months back I started hearing about these crazy milkshakes that were supposedly works of art and tasted as good as they looked. (I was probably clicking through Buzzfeed, it seems the sort of thing there would be a listicles about). But those milkshakes were located in New York City, a place I currently have no plans to visit, so I wrote them off as something that might be nice to try one day and moved on with my life.
Apparently, ‘one day’ has arrived. Black Tap milkshakes will be making a pop-up this Saturday, Aug. 13, at the IT’SUGAR in Santa Monica. The IT’SUGAR XL Gummy Shake by Black Tap will be handed out — FOR FREE — from 1 to 4 p.m.
The IT’SUGAR XL Gummy Shake by Black Tap which consists of a jumbo gummy bear on a stick, a large rainbow marshmallow pop, a sprinkling of marshmallow pieces, a jawbreaker rim with a cherry on top.
As the shakes will be free, expect long, long lines. Unfortunately — or not so unfortunately because I’m really not about that waiting-in-line life — I won’t be able to make it out there due to prior commitments to the family. But if you decide to go, I would only ask two things of you:
- Go Metro! IT’SUGAR in Santa Monica is located in the middle of the 3rd Street Promenade, which is less than a five minute walk from the Expo Line’s Downtown Santa Monica Station.
- Let us know if the milkshake meets expectations. Because my expectations are pretty darn high.
