The big enchilada last week was obviously the Board’s consideration of the ballot measure ordinance and spending plan (they approved it on an 11 to 2 vote). I was wrapped up with that and didn’t get a chance to listen to the rest of the proceedings.
The recap of all the items is above. The agenda with links to the Metro staff reports on each item are below.
Among some of the items that the Board took action on:
•They set a budget of about $2.4 billion on the second segment of the Purple Line Extension.
•Providing $84 million for Access Services in the coming fiscal year.
•They set a six-month negotiating period with two firms (Trammell Crowe and Greenland USA) to develop Metro-owned properties surrounding the NoHo Red Line and Orange Line stations.
•They approved a contract for a “parking guidance system” to broadcast online the amount of parking available at Metro stations.
•Approved building a bus transfer facility at the Downtown Inglewood Station for the Crenshaw/LAX Line.
•Approved development guidelines for Metro transit-oriented developments near three Crenshaw/LAX stations — including 3.4 acres of land near Exposition and Crenshaw boulevards.
