The Metro Board voted 11-2 to put a transportation sales tax measure on the Nov. 8 ballot for L.A. County voters.
Speaking of, we took a look at some projects that would get ballot measure funding: the Green Line Extension to Torrance and a potential light rail line between Artesia and Union Station in DTLA.
And here comes service changes beginning Sunday. A big one: all Gold Line trains will begin running between East L.A. and Azusa. And all-door boarding will begin on the Silver Line.
The draft EIR burped forth for the Airport Metro Connector project — i.e. the train/bus/other station where folks will transfer to the future LAX people mover.
Stick figures meet their maker in these provocative new safety videos.
We also briefly explained how to pay to use Metro Bike Share, which debuts in DTLA on July 7.
Check out some nice pics of the future development adjacent to Culver City Station.
And, finally, the Dodger Stadium Express hosted its one-millionth rider.

Well, it is up to the voters now. Like Brexit, no one really knows what Metro’s Forever Sales Tax Measure will wrought in the end. However, I predict that Metro’s last moment bait and switch tax scheme (It’s PR agency’s idea?) the “Forever” clause will be its undoing. Without direct election of Metro Board Members and without a time limit on its Forever Sales Tax, the voters, if they approve it, will have sold their franchise for a very cheap price indeed.
