Metro hosts Job Fair for veterans

The Job Fair was held this morning at Metro’s headquarters in downtown Los Angeles with several dozen potential employers in attendance.

As Metro CEO Phil Washington said prior to the event, “We can and must do a better job of providing more employment opportunities for our county’s veteran population. At Metro, we are truly committed to working with our private and government sector partners to bring new job opportunities to the table for the men and women who proudly served our country in its time of need.”

Veteran unemployment rates are higher than average in Los Angeles County, particularly among younger military veterans, who may experience greater challenges entering the workforce after completing their military service. The veteran unemployment rate in the county is approximately 12 percent, much higher than the general unemployment rate.
