FINAL UPDATE: Blue Line resumes normal service

UPDATE, 8:35 p.m.: the disabled train has been removed from the tracks, and normal service is resuming.

UPDATE, 7:25 p.m.: bus shuttles have been cancelled. Trains share one track between Florence and San Pedro Station.

The Metro Blue Line is currently experiencing major delays along the entire line due to disabled train at Florence Station. While staff is working on removing the disabled train, trains will share the Long Beach-bound track at Washington and San Pedro Street Station. Some trains may turn back at San Pedro or Washington to prevent overcrowding on station platforms. Please follow announcements.

Bus shuttles are also supplementing train service between Florence and Washington Station.

If riding the Blue Line this evening, please allow extra time to complete your trip. A combination of the Silver and Green Lines may also be a good alternate route for some customers.

We will continue to provide updates on Blue Line service here at The Source, or, follow us on Twitter @metrolosangeles or @metroLAalerts for the latest bus and rail updates.

  1. Why not do what the railroads do and run around the second or third car pulling the b.o. car in the second or third position and continue in service
