Crenshaw/LAX project reconfiguration of Victoria Avenue begins tomorrow

Construction is in full swing on the 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. Here’s the latest notice sent out from the project regarding the closure and reconfiguration of a street adjacent to the future light-rail line:

Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will close Victoria Avenue to traffic between 67th Street and 71st Street beginning Friday, March 18, for the upcoming “cut & cover” operation necessary to support construction for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

Upon completion of the work, Victoria Ave. north of the right-of-way will become a cul-de-sac and south of the railroad tracks will lead to a new city street that runs parallel to the new Crenshaw/LAX light-rail line.

Work has been scheduled to begin on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 9 a.m. Local and emergency responder access will be maintained up to the closure boundaries. Pedestrian traffic on Victoria Avenue will be detoured at 67th Street and 71th Street.

The full notice can be viewed here. You can find more alerts like this one by visiting the Crenshaw/LAX project page.
