Art and transit lovers were treated to scenes from Shakespeare as part of a special Valentine’s Day art tour of the Metro system. The Metro Art Moves series of tours highlights Metro’s diverse collection of artworks, heightens the passenger experience in fun and engaging ways and boosts public perceptions about transit.

Traveling from Union Station to Hollywood, the well-attended tour explored artworks in Metro stations. Actors from the Independent Shakespeare Company regaled tourgoers with scenes involving the tender topic of love from select Shakespearian plays.

Besides being a fun activity for transit riders, art tours advance Metro’s goal of attracting new riders, particularly during non-peak hours.

  1. It’s much more informative and a better event tho host than Metro Red Line speed dating, which as far as I know has not been successful (or else Metro would have trumpeted the first wedding by now).
