Update: regular service resumes on Pasadena Gold Line

Update, 6 p.m.: the incident has been cleared and trains should be running on schedule shortly.

***

Update, 5:30 p.m.: Delays on the Metro Gold Line have been reduced to about 20 minutes. Trains continue to share the northbound-track between Lake and Del Mar Stations. This means customers traveling both to Sierra Madre Villa AND Union Station should board trains at Lake, Memorial Park and Del Mar Stations on the Pasadena-bound platform.

Some Gold Line riders may arrive at their destination faster this evening through pursuing an alternate route.

***

The Metro Gold Line is currently experiencing major delays between Union Station and Pasadena due to a disabled southbound train at Del Mar Station.

While Metro technicians troubleshoot the incident train, all other Gold Line trains are sharing the Pasadena-bound track between Lake and Del Mar Stations.

Bus shuttles between Union Station and Pico/Aliso, as well as rail service between Pico/Aliso and Atlantic Station, are unaffected by this incident.

We will continue to provide updates here at The Source as we work to restore normal Gold Line service between downtown L.A. and Pasadena as soon as possible. For up-to-the-minute service alerts, please consider following us on Twitter @metrolosangeles or @metroLAalerts.
