7th/Metro Center Station closed due to LAFD investigation

The 7th Street/Metro Center Station in downtown Los Angeles is currently closed while the Los Angeles Fire Department investigates reports of smoke in the station and in the tunnel west of the station. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is assisting with station evacuation while the investigation takes place.

Because of LAFD personnel conducting the investigation on the tracks and in the tunnel, buses replace trains between Union Station and Vermont/Beverly. Red Line trains are turning back at Vermont/Beverly Station. Blue and Expo Line trains are turning back at Pico Station.

Purple Line users may also use the Metro Rapid 720 bus between the Pershing Square and Wilshire/Western Station. Red Line riders may use the same bus to Wilshire/Vermont, though there are currently no trains connecting at that station. For Blue and Expo Line riders, use the Metro Silver Line, Metro Local 81 or DASH F. A complete list of suggested alternatives during disruptions can be viewed here.

7th Street between Hope Street and Figueroa Street and Figueroa Street between 8th Street and Wilshire Boulevard are also closed to make room for LAFD vehicles.
