Beginning this Friday, Dec. 11 after 9 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 13 close of service, bus shuttles will replace Green Line trains between Willowbrook/Rosa Parks and Lakewood Boulevard Station. During this time, crews are slated to perform signal system upgrades at the switch, or crossover point near Long Beach Boulevard.
All eastbound trains will travel as far as Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station and return to Redondo Beach Station. Westbound trains will stop only at Lakewood Blvd. and return to Norwalk. Regular service to all stations will resume Monday morning.
This weekend’s work will require the following service changes. These changes can also be found on the Planned Service Advisories page:
On Friday evening, Green Line trains will operate approximately every 20 minutes between Redondo Beach and Willowbrook and every 15 minutes between Lakewood Blvd. and Norwalk.
The last, complete eastbound trips depart Redondo Beach at 7:40 p.m., 8 p.m., and 8:21 p.m. The last, complete westbound trips depart Norwalk at 7:54 p.m., 8:12 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, trains are scheduled to run every 15 minutes throughout the day. After 7:30 p.m. trains run every 20 minutes between Redondo Beach and Willowbrook and every 15 minutes between Lakewood Blvd. and Norwalk. (Please note all times are subject to work-related delays.)
Finally, we’d like to thank customers who may be inconvenienced for their patience and understanding as the upgrades will allow for better train movement and ultimately result in a safer and more reliable Green Line.
