Blue Line resuming normal service

Update, 10:26 a.m.: Blue Line trains are resuming normal service to all stations at this time, and bus shuttles have been cancelled. The earlier incident near Vernon Station is now clear. Customers can expect residuals delays through 11:30 a.m.

Update, 9:15 a.m.: Blue Line trains are sharing one track between Florence and Vernon Station as authorities continue to investigate the earlier incident. Customers traveling to downtown Los Angeles: please consider using supplementary bus shuttles running northbound from Vernon to 7th St/Metro Center to avoid delays. We will continue to provide updates here and on Twitter as information becomes available. Thank you for your patience.

Update, 7:49 a.m.: The downtown Los Angeles bound track near Vernon Station has been reopened, and trains are now sharing one track between Vernon and Florence Station. Metro bus shuttles have also been established to transport customers between Vernon and Washington Station.

Those traveling via Silver Line, Line 450 or 460: The freeway upcharge has been waived at 7th/Flower southbound, Harbor Fwy Green Line Station northbound and Norwalk Station northbound. Please continue to follow us here on the Source or Twitter @metroLAalerts and metrolosangeles for the latest updates.

Rail service on the Metro Blue Line is currently suspended between Vernon and Washington Station due to a train-person incident that occurred at approximately 6:26 a.m. this morning.  All northbound trains are traveling as far as Vernon Station and turning back to Long Beach. Southbound trains are traveling to Washington and returning to 7th Street/Metro Center.

Bus shuttles have been requested to transport customers between Washington and Vernon until the incident is cleared. To avoid delays, customers are encouraged to use alternate routes or the Green Line and Silver Line. For up-to-the-minute status updates, follow Metro on Twitter @metrolosangeles or @metroLAalerts.
