Deal of the Week, Los Angeles Turkey Trot

You’ve heard of CicLAvia, where bikes, skateboards, scooters and pedestrians own the streets. This Thanksgiving, turkeys rule the roost during the 2015 Los Angeles Turkey Trot!

If you’re the kind of person who likes to work for their pumpkin pie, join other fitness fans this Thursday, Nov. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon, for a fun run through the downtown L.A streets. Go Metro to the event, which centers around Grand Park/City Hall, and save 10% when registering online/in advance, or at the registration table the day of.

Turkey Trot participants can chose either a 5 or 10k run. There’s also a “Widdle Waddle” 1k course for children. The first race kicks off at 8 a.m. sharp, but if you’re registering day-of, you’ll need to be there around 6:45 a.m. A family-friendly Thanksgiving festival will also be in full swing from 8 a.m. to noon. Runners and their cheering squads are encouraged to strut their stuff in their best turkey-themed outfits!

To Go Metro to the Turkey Trot, take the Red or Purple Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station, which is steps from the event. You can also take the Gold Line to Little Tokyo/Arts District Station or Union Station (it’s about a fifteen minute walk to your destination from either). Show off your Turkey Trot medal and SWAG on the train ride home. And don’t forget your pumpkin pie.
