To provide travelers with a transit option to holiday traffic, the BurbankBus NoHo-Airport route will operate a special weekend service on Saturday and Sunday, November 28-29 (the weekend following Thanksgiving). Hours and schedule for this special weekend service are the same as the regular weekday service.
The NoHo-Airport route is an all-day service. Buses depart the Metro Red Line North Hollywood Station every 15 minutes during AM and PM peak commute periods, every 20 minutes during the mid-day and every 45 minutes in the late evening. Fare is $1.00 or free with an EZ Transit Pass. The special holiday weekend service is funded by Metro.
Here’s the press release from Metro:
To improve mobility and offer more transportation options for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, BurbankBus and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today announced expanded service on the popular NoHo-Airport Route connecting Burbank Bob Hope Airport and the Metro North Hollywood station.
The NoHo-Airport Route is convenient for travelers as it links the Metro Orange Line Express bus, the Metro Red Line subway, Metro Rapid and Metro Local services to Burbank Bob Hope Airport on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
“The NoHo-Airport Route fare is only one dollar each way or free with an EZ Transit Pass, both of which cost less than a slice of pumpkin pie,” said Burbank Vice Mayor Jess Talamantes.
“The Airport Authority is very excited to be partnering with BurbankBus and Metro to bring this extended Thanksgiving weekend service to Burbank Bob Hope Airport passengers,” said Commissioner Bill Wiggins, Vice President of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority.
Metro underwrote the $4,000 cost of the special weekend service. The Metro North Hollywood station offers free parking and, with the addition of a 194 space lot, parking capacity is increased to 1,115 spaces.
“We hope that, when making plans for the holiday weekend, travelers will consider the convenience of Metro buses and trains and their easy connection to Burbank Bob Hope Airport through the NoHo-Airport Route,” said Metro CEO Phillip A. Washington.
The NoHo-Airport Route is an all-day service with departures every 15 minutes during the morning and afternoon commute periods, every 20 minutes during mid-day and every 45 minutes in the late evening. For more information go to http://www.burbankbus.org/home
