UPDATE: As of 3 p.m. repairs to the overhead wire hangers have been completed, and the Gold Line will resume regular evening service.
Due to newly discovered damaged overhead wire hangers near South Pasadena Station, the Gold Line will run every 30 minutes between Union Station and Sierra Madre Villa Station this afternoon until approximately 4:30 p.m. Trains must travel at reduced speed between Fillmore Station and South Pasadena to prevent further damage to wires until repair is complete.
Those who wish to bypass the Gold Line during delays may consider these bus routes:
From Downtown LA to Southwest Museum, Heritage Square, Highland Park Stations
- Metro Local 81
- Board on northbound Hill St
- Metro Local 83
- Board on northbound Hill St until 1st St, then northbound Broadway
From Downtown LA to Lincoln/Cypress Station
- Metro Rapid 794, Metro Local 81, 90, 91, 94
- Board on northbound Hill St
- Metro Local 84
- Board on northbound Hill St until 1st St, then northbound Broadway

Those alternates suggested do not go around the problem area. They don’t even arrive at the most southern end of the problem. Line 485 is an alternate to get to Pasadena (Lake). The 487 will take riders to the SMV Station.
