Do we know about how often they will run? Would love to get a pix! 🙂

Metro has said that initially trains will run every 12 minutes on the new segment of the Expo Line. But keep in mind that this is a test and things can change. If trains are running, I think you won’t have to wait too long to see one — but no guarantees.

Any idea when they’ll announce the opening date for this one?

Hi aspieger;
I don’t. I think the process will be similar to the one followed recently by the Foothill Gold Line project — the Construction Authority will announce completion, the handover process to Metro will take place and then an opening announced. Stay tuned!

Thanks Steve. I guess I was dreaming that it may open around the same time as the Gold Line extension – but just saw the notice above says ‘Spring 2016’ – which doesn’t quite hit March 5th. Also dreaming of a better way to get to Union Station from the Westside, outside of the BB10 hours… Will stay tuned!

I’m sure you’ve been asked that question so many times on various posts (I’ve asked you about it when the Gold Line Extension to Azusa announced its March 5 opening date). Take it with a grain of salt if you (and readers of The Source) want, but I’m predicting an April 23, 2016 opening for the Expo Line Phase 2 to Santa Monica – which would take place around the 4th anniversary of the opening of the Expo Line to Culver City.
